Frequently Asked Questions

Hey there! If you have stumbled upon this section then I am going to be totally presumptious and assume that you have either already booked your session with me or are seriously considering doing so – fabulous! I have put together some SUPER important information about your session so please go and grab yourself a coffee, go and hide in the bathroom if you have to and take a few minutes to read through the following information.

Booking info and links

To be able to confirm and secure your session date, I require a completed booking form and deposit. For your convenience the booking form is located here and you can pay your deposit through this link here. I am unable to hold dates based on enquiries! Once this has been received we can then lock in your session time and date.

Once we have secured your session, we can then start discussing wardrobe styling, location and any other logistics. I will send you an email approximately one week prior to your session date to confirm all of the details, let you know what to expect at your session, reminders for anything you may need to bring and your account summary. All sessions need to be paid in full prior to the session date.

What to wear

Wardrobe styling is another very important factor in determining the look and final outcome of your session. Dependant on your location choice, we can then discuss colour schemes that will work well. These photos will be hanging on your walls and treasured for years to come, so thinking about the tones you would love to display in your house can really help with deciding what to wear. Choosing what to wear can often cause the most angst among my clients but I promise, it is super easy to get right. To help you along I have put together some tips to consider when deciding what to wear for your session:

  • simple, classic clothes in complementing (not matching) colours will help give your images a timeless feel.
  • try to avoid clothing with large brand names, logo’s, wording, pictures, cartoons or graphics.
  • Wear clothing that you are comfortable in and makes you feel good about your body. If you are feeling uncomfortable, this is sure to translate across to your images.
  • Be conscious of underwear/bra straps showing through sheer clothing.

Choosing the perfect location is so important to the outcome of your session. I have a range of locations to shoot at which all offer a different feel, colour tones and activity levels. Your location and backdrop will influence the look of your photos significantly so I always consult with you to make sure the location is going to match your vision perfectly. If you would prefer a more personal and intimate session at home, we can discuss further which areas, light and times will work best for your session.

What to expect at your session

If your session is outside on location it is very important that you arrive on time, or even a few minutes early if possible. In most instances, my outdoor shoots are scheduled for sunrise or sunset when the light is at its best, and if you are late it may mean that we won’t have enough time to get a good selection of images before the light starts to disappear.

If you have chosen to have an in-home session, please be sure to clear away any unnecessary clutter before your session, especially in rooms that you think you would like photographs in. Please don’t panic or feel stresses about making your home perfect though, we still want it to feel like yours and this is what makes your pictures truly special.

After session experience

Your beautiful gallery of images will be ready for you to view and share online within 2 weeks of your session date. You will be able to download your images directly from the online gallery and also have the option to purchase professional quality prints to be able to print and display around your home.

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
